About The Position

The Human Resource Specialist, under close supervision, will support the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including assisting with hiring and interviewing staff, administering payroll, performance management, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • At least one year of human resource management experience preferred.
  • Experience using the following ADP product a plus: Workforce Now, Enterprise E-Time.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • MUST be a team-player and have strong organizational, excellent communication and administrative skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven track record of reliability and responsibility
  • Discreet, able to handle confidential and proprietary information appropriately. High level of integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Assists with recruitment and the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Supports administration of bonus, commission and incentive programs.
  • Plans and supports new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Performs incremental reporting and vendor billing.
  • Maintains Employment and Labor law posters, ensuring they are up to date.
  • Assists with open enrollment and benefit administration.
  • Maintains employee files and documentation.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Supports knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
