An incumbent in this job classification is responsible for performing professional human resources duties as a subject matter expert specialized in a specific functional area of human resource. This role requires working knowledge of the Workers’ Compensation Act, FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, and Short & Long Term Disability Programs to ensure compliance with applicable state/federal statutes, rules, and regulations. The specialist will determine FMLA eligibility, process and analyze claims, and interpret medical information to assess an individual's capacity to perform essential job functions.
