About The Position

Absolute International Security is seeking a professional Human Resources Specialist to provide day-to-day support to the Human Resources department and assist the VP of Operations with the coordination of security trainings. This role is responsible for supporting core HR functions including onboarding, employee records, leaves of absence, and employment verifications, while also serving as a welcoming point of contact for employees and visitors. The ideal candidate is highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years of human resources or related administrative experience required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and additional screening requirements
  • Effective written & verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong multi-tasking, task management, and attention to detail
  • Possesses a professional and customer service oriented demeanor with emphasis on team collaboration and employee relations
  • Acts with confidentiality and discretion
  • Demonstrates initiative and self-motivation
  • Must be dependable, committed to ethical conduct, and acts with integrity

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in the security industry or a related field preferred.
  • HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Human Resources Generalist with new hire onboarding and orientation processes, ensuring a smooth and positive experience for all new employees.
  • Prepare and distribute new hire paperwork, employee badges, and onboarding materials.
  • Administer and track leaves of absence (FMLA, personal, medical) and maintain accurate leave records.
  • Process and respond to verification of employment requests in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Prepare and submit Employment Development Department (EDD) documentation and responses.
  • Compile and distribute employee exit packets; coordinate offboarding logistics with relevant departments.
  • Maintain and update employee files and HR records in compliance with company policy and applicable regulations.
  • Assist with general HR correspondence, mailings, and document preparation.
  • Assist the VP of Operations with the scheduling, coordination, and logistics of security training programs.
  • Communicate training schedules, requirements, and updates to employees.
  • Maintain training attendance records, certifications, and compliance documentation.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation for compliance audits and license recertification.
  • Assist in the preparation of training materials, handouts, and presentation support as needed.
  • Act as the front desk receptionist to be the first point of contact for visitors, applicants, and employees.
  • Answer and route incoming phone calls professionally and in a timely manner.
  • Greet and direct visitors, applicants, and employees in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Assist with general office administrative tasks including filing, scanning, copying, and supply management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by HR leadership or the VP of Operations.
