About The Position

The Human Resources Representative serves as a generalist supporting all functions of the Human Resources Department, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, benefits administration, employee relations, compliance, and HR systems management. This role is responsible for executing daily HR operations while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with all applicable laws and bank policies. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering excellent internal customer service.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • Knowledge of employment law and payroll processes
  • Previous Human Resources or customer service experience required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Accounting, or related field, or equivalent experience preferred
  • Previous payroll experience preferred
  • Banking or financial industry experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate documentation for all employee lifecycle activities, including applications, interviews, hiring, transfers, and terminations
  • Maintain and organize employee personnel files
  • Ensure data integrity within HRIS and applicant tracking system (ATS)
  • Maintain employee recognition records, including birthday and anniversary calendars
  • Respond to verification of employment requests
  • Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified applicants
  • Collaborate with managers to identify skills and competencies needed for open positions
  • Maintain and update job descriptions
  • Conduct background checks and employment eligibility verification
  • Coordinate and conduct new hire orientation and onboarding
  • Assist with employee transfers, promotions, and offboarding
  • Maintain applicant tracking and supporting documentation
  • Process bi-weekly payroll and additional payroll cycles as needed
  • Review and audit employee timecards for compliance with payroll policy
  • Monitor payroll changes, including earnings and deductions
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Assist with bank reconciliations and payroll-related documentation
  • Respond to employee payroll questions and resolve issues
  • Administer employee benefits programs and enrollment changes
  • Coordinate benefits updates and employee communications
  • Process COBRA events and track payments
  • Reconcile insurance invoices to anticipated changes
  • Assist with annual benefits open enrollment
  • Process and track leave requests (FMLA, STD, LTD)
  • Support employees with benefits-related inquiries
  • Support performance management, morale, and engagement initiatives
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
  • Coordinate employee engagement initiatives, including: Charitable campaigns (e.g., United Way), Employee recognition and incentive programs, Anniversary and appreciation initiatives
  • Manage distribution and tracking of employee recognition items
  • Participate in bank-wide sales and referral incentive programs
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Maintain knowledge of HR best practices, regulatory changes, and employment trends
  • Support updates and improvements to HR policies and procedures
  • Ensure documentation and processes meet compliance standards
  • Provide excellent customer service to employees and internal stakeholders
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across the organization
  • Follow all bank policies, procedures, and security requirements
  • Perform special projects and additional duties as assigned
