About The Position

Responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of the district’s plan for recruiting and staffing a diverse classified workforce at each hiring entity. Will serve to expedite the hiring of qualified classified staff for critical needs positions throughout the district.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience and/or familiarity with planning and facilitating recruitment processes and staffing
  • Experience with program planning and implementation
  • Minimum three years of human resources experience (school district preferred)
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures and instructional manuals.
  • Ability to design and write professional development plans, reports and data entry procedures.
  • Ability to effectively present professional development and training and respond to questions from groups of educators, trainees, media, administrators and organization members.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in units of measurement, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and in the display and interpretation of data.
  • Ability to apply basic concepts of statistical analysis, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to interpret and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to analyze information and use logic to address work related issues and problems.
  • Ability to quickly assess employee, departmental, and administrative needs and provide timely feedback.
  • Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer and related software.
  • Ability to work independently, with limited supervision.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, and the school community.

  • Ability to implement a flexible work schedule to meet the reporting deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required.

  • Ability to self-monitor and manage multiple tasks while working individually and with members of a group.

  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes recruitment plans to facilitate the employee recruitment and hiring processes to include processing online applicant files, qualifying applicants for hire, and preparing announcements of vacancies for the purpose of meeting district staffing requirements while complying with established guidelines per HR authorization and direction.
  • Leads the creation of a recruiting and interviewing plan for each open position to efficiently and effectively fill open classified positions.
  • Develops a pool of qualified candidates in advance of need.
  • Researches and recommends new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting.
  • Coordinates all classified district recruitment and interview day events.
  • Oversees the creation of invitations, publications and web-updates to advertise classified recruitment fair activities and events.
  • Collaborates with the district’s communications team in establishing a recognizable employer of choice reputation for the company, both internally and externally.
  • Communicates with principals and/or administrators to facilitate the hiring process for new employees and maintains a current and accurate listing of all classified positions.
  • Conducts regular follow-up with principals and/or administrators to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation.
  • Communicates with managers and employees regularly to establish rapport, gauge morale, and source new candidate leads.
  • Assists with management of the district’s on-line district application system in collaboration with the Human Resources Information Systems Specialist.
  • Facilitates the training of staff on current HRIS systems.
  • Assist with updating job descriptions in collaboration with the Human Resources Information Systems Specialist to ensure accuracy when posting vacant positions.
  • Ensures compliance with district, local, state and federal employment policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned.
