About The Position

Wingspan Life Resources seeks a Human Resources Recruiter/Orientation Coordinator responsible for recruiting and hiring Wingspan direct service and related employees, providing a caring, people-first atmosphere. This position is also responsible for our entire orientation process with all newly hired employees. Experienced Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are encouraged to apply! Founded in 1973, Wingspan Life Resources is a growing and dynamic nonprofit organization that provides services people with developmental and other disabilities in residential homes, adult and youth crisis respite centers, and in-home and supported-employment programs throughout the Twin Cities. Requirements

  • Direct Care experience providing services to persons with developmental and other disabilities in a related field is required.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in the English language.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to organize and prioritize work projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and maintain a positive demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently and without continuous on-site supervision.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
  • May be subject to upset employees and customers.
  • May be exposed to infectious illnesses, odors, dust, pets, etc. throughout the day.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with Wingspan managers to identify hiring needs, understand staffing patterns, and define job requirements
  • Accurately posts job openings externally to Indeed and internally to Wingspan’s payroll system.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and implements innovative recruitment solutions.
  • Assesses candidates and informs them of the status of their application
  • Schedules and conducts interviews with eligible applicants
  • Informs applicants about the specific needs of Wingspan’s clients, job requirements, Wingspan mission, etc.
  • Extends offers to applicants, scheduling orientation, and notifying Wingspan managers
  • Compiles weekly and monthly data in regard to applicants, interviews, offers, hires, etc.
  • Conducts and processes new hire orientation.
  • Prepares new hire orientation packets
  • Trains new hires on Wingspan and 245D policies and procedures. Information is conveyed through written, verbal, and group discussion.
  • Ensures all forms and initial training documents are thoroughly completed by new hires
  • May assist in processing new hire completed paperwork and creating and managing employee files
  • Processes Motor Vehicle Checks on new employees and informs HR Director and Wingspan management of any issues.
  • Maintains driving eligibility spreadsheet
  • Ensures compliance with County, State, and Federal rules and regulations.
  • Maintains knowledge, develops proficiency, and acts as a resource in all above job responsibilities.
  • Ensures all work is completed timely and thoroughly.
  • Continually create and seek innovative ways to improve systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain positive and beneficial relationships with employees, etc.
  • Keep the Supervisor and HR Director apprised of concerns and issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.
