About The Position

Our Human Resources Operations Specialist delivers high quality support across all of HR, serving as the first point of contact for supporting employees and managers with inquiries that could include: coaching corrective‑action steps, and maintaining accurate records. Acting as an HR operational SME, this role drives efficiency and consistency by training colleagues, managing transactions in the Human Capital Management System (HCM), and directly supporting HR Business Partners and Recruiters. Salary $65,000 ~ $75,000 The base pay offered for this position may vary within the posted range based on your job-related knowledge, skills, experience. Hybrid Work This position will be hybrid, having the regional availability to come in our Office 2 days a week. Our office location: WPS Corporate Center Building - 1717 W. Broadway in Madison, WI. Can act as an HR operational process SME— develop and maintain SOPs, workflows, and governance documentation, deliver training to HR colleagues and organizational leadership. Partner to identify opportunities for enhancements and efficiencies in existing HR procedures. Can monitor and respond to unemployment claims.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3 or more years of progressive HR experience, in a generalist, coordinator, or HR support role.
  • Demonstrated experience processing E‑Verify and managing background screenings.
  • Familiarity with employment laws and HR practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Detail‑oriented with a strong process‑improvement mindset.
  • Strong data‑entry accuracy and reporting skills.
  • High speed cable or fiber internet
  • Minimum of 10 Mbps downstream and at least 1 Mbps upstream internet connection

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with HCM platforms (e.g., UKG Pro, Workday, ADP).
  • Strong technical skills and experience with technologies that could include MS Office (Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint, Power BI, Copilot).
