About The Position

The Human Resources Manager position will serve as the HR point of contact for both the Holland, MI Global Headquarters and the Novi, Michigan offices. This role will manage all HR functions for these locations, oversee all Total Rewards programs, policies, and initiatives for US-based team members, and supervise two direct reports: a Total Rewards Specialist and a Senior Payroll Specialist. The position is based in Holland, Michigan, with periodic travel to the Novi, MI office required.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze corporate strategic plans to determine development needs, including defining metrics and tools to monitor progress and identifying/delivering supporting developmental activities and performance initiatives.
  • Lead Total Rewards for US-based team members, acting as the point of contact for benefits brokers, vendors, and internal team members, and defining the Total Rewards strategy for all US-based employees.
  • Manage the Payroll function for all US-based team members, supervising the Senior Payroll Specialist to ensure accuracy of weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing for Michigan and Ohio locations.
  • Manage corporate talent acquisition processes, including direct supervision of job postings, candidate screening and interviews, and coordination/approval of job postings at all levels.
  • Ensure programs are in place to recognize employee achievements, driving engagement and satisfaction.
  • Ensure employees have access to necessary information by reviewing and editing materials for clarity and accuracy, posting legally required Human Resources communications, and coordinating special events for Holland and Novi offices.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of the workforce through the performance management process, including creating, evaluating, and maintaining job descriptions, and ensuring completion of goal setting, performance reviews, and development plans.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement solutions for manager and employee problems/issues, providing guidance, counseling, and problem-solving support for human resource/employee relations issues. Work with managers to ensure policy consistency, documentation, and compliance with the law, and participate in disciplinary actions, separations, and conflict resolution.
  • Manage cases involving workers' compensation and physically restricted employees, working with Occupational Health professionals and Leaders to place medically restricted employees and consulting with legal and workers' comp insurance adjustors.
  • Manage team member safety by establishing safety guidelines and ensuring proper employee training.
  • Coordinate facility celebrations to ensure a high level of team member engagement.
  • Coordinate and administer all applicable training programs and initiatives.
