About The Position

Premier Brands Group Holdings Inc. is currently seeking a Human Resources Manager for our Denim Wholesale Distribution Center in South Hill, VA. This role is responsible for assuring that benefit administration, recruitment, training, and utilization of the human resources of the Distribution Center(s) are in accordance with the philosophy and guidelines established by OJG. Decisions involve substantial and broad impact and risk to the organization. The position implements, maintains, and advises on all policies and procedures utilized in the operations of OJG. It is responsible for ensuring the compensation system for all management, administration, and hourly non-exempt employees is competitive in the market place and internal equity throughout the facility is maintained. The role is also responsible for providing a means of assuring open communications for all associates and administering and communicating all aspects of associates benefit programs. This includes selecting or identifying candidates for employment/termination, conducting and reviewing performance evaluations, and maintaining an effective, timely hiring and orientation program to meet the needs of the organization. The Human Resources Manager is responsible for compliance of EEOC, State Department Employment Security, Workers’ Compensation, AAP, OSHA and assures proper timely submission of mandated reports in accordance with federal and state requirements. The role requires acting in accordance with pre-established guidelines and processes, and escalating issues to senior management. Building and maintaining partnerships with operations and warehouse associates to understand current issues and dispensing advice and making recommendations on matters is key. This includes general Distribution Center Management/associates/staffing agencies. Devising and developing effective communications between and among management and associates to promote associate morale and provide an environment conducive to achieving reduced costs and increased productivity is also a responsibility. The role resolves issues effectively and efficiently, ensures department costs are controlled, and builds an environment that supports cooperation and cohesiveness among the work team and other areas within the organization. Uses reliable, independent and sound judgement in decision making. Requires advanced interpersonal and organizational skills. Successfully manages multiple projects and competing priorities while balancing the need for quality with meeting deadlines. Requirements

  • BA or BS degree with a concentration in Human Resources preferred.
  • PHR, SPHR preferred
  • Minimum of four to ten (4-10) years Human Resources experience with a heavy emphasis in Employee Relations.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
  • Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Must be knowledgeable in Federal and State employment law.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing/distribution environment highly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to use technology (MS Office, HRIS, timekeeping systems) to gather, interpret, analyse and present data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to function in an ever-changing environment.

Benefits

  • Salary Range: $85K - $110K
  • Actual base salary for this role within the above range will be based upon experience, qualifications and/or assigned unit.
