About The Position

The Toledo Complex, which includes the Huntington Center and the Glass City Center, is seeking an HR Manager to provide support across both locations. This role operates within the Venue & Food and Beverage Operations at the Toledo Complex. The HR Manager will partner with leaders across their respective venues, offering strategic advice to enhance organizational performance and foster the Legends culture. They will provide recommendations, counsel, and coaching to managers and employees (both union and non-union) on various HR matters, including performance management, employee relations, HR policies and procedures, training and development, employee engagement, and staffing and recruitment. This position will proactively identify and address labor and employee relations issues, offering timely and appropriate counsel for resolution. Additionally, the HR Manager will be responsible for building organizational bench strength through the identification, recruitment, and development of top talent. This role collaborates with the Regional HR Director to drive critical organizational change, cultivate the unique Legends Global organizational culture, and implement people strategies and initiatives. The HR Manager will also manage a team of local venue HR professionals, ensuring their continued growth and development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA) from a four-year college or university
  • 3+ years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience administering benefit programs
  • Solid knowledge of principles and practices of HR administration
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Professional appearance and attitude
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment

Nice To Haves

  • Workday experience highly preferred
  • Workday recruiting experience or equivalent highly preferred including generating job requisitions, background checks, offer letters, onboarding, etc.
  • HR certification preferred
  • Experience working with Excel, Word, and Outlook Microsoft 365, preferred
  • Experience with Catering software used in F&B

Responsibilities

  • Follows Legends Global Human Resources policies to assure compliance with legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions.
  • Maintains compliance with state regulations concerning employment.
  • Administers various Human Resources plans and procedures for all facility personnel.
  • Performs recruitment activities, including writing and placing advertisements.
  • Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions.
  • Plans and conducts new employee orientations.
  • Maintains records of benefits plans participation (insurance, 401k), personnel transactions (hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations), and employee statistics for government reporting.
  • Administers correct payroll for employees.
  • Coordinates training or trains Managers in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance management, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Advises the corporate office of EEOC complaints and other employee relations problems.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carriers.
  • Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all Legends Global policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
