About The Position

The Human Resources Manager is a hands-on HR leader and strategic partner to the Chief People Officer, responsible for building and scaling core people programs that support rapid growth. This role ensures HR operations are executed consistently, in compliance, and with care while also strengthening employee engagement, performance, and leadership capabilities. Lead, develop, and mentor an HR team (HR Coordinator and HRBP) and serve as a key driver of standardized HR practices across the organization. Build a collaborative, service-oriented HR team known for trust, follow-through, credibility, and business partnership. Design, implement, and continuously improve scalable HR programs, including performance management, talent and career development, recognition, and retention initiatives. Create repeatable processes, toolkits, and “playbooks” that enable managers to lead effectively and consistently across teams. Equip people managers with guidance and tools to strengthen accountability, communication, employee development, and build trust. Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and managers, helping resolve conflicts, navigate sensitive concerns, and reinforce a respectful workplace. Support a culture of belonging, engagement, and high performance through proactive communication and employee experience initiatives. Maintain and improve HR policies and processes, including leaves of absence, accommodations, workers’ compensation, and employee files/documentation. Lead, coach, and develop the HR Coordinator and HR Business Partner to deliver high-quality HR support across the organization. Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws, and reduce organizational risk through strong documentation and consistent practice. Design, create, and deliver training for all employees as needed.

Requirements

  • Highly technical and analytical with the ability to quickly pick up new systems and technology, including working in HRIS systems.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and results driven environment.
  • Ability to meet all safety and physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • 5-7 years of progressive HR experience, including ownership of core HR programs and employee relations
  • 2+ years of experience as an HRBP
  • HRIS administrator experience is required
  • Strong knowledge of CA employment laws and regulations
  • Ability to build trust quickly and handle employee concerns with empathy, discretion, and confidence
  • Experience working in a high-growth or fast-paced environment where systems need to be built, not just maintained
  • Demonstrated success in creating standardized processes that improve performance, employee experience, and manager effectiveness
  • Proficiency with Google Business Suite apps (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Gmail).
