This position is responsible for: Manages and oversees all human resources functions under the Area Command; manages recruiting efforts; ensures effective administration of all HR policies, processes and compliance with state/federal laws; maintains and safeguards all personnel records; coordinates and conducts the new hire orientation and other approved training programs, working in collaboration with the Area Commanders, leadership, managers and supervisors; handles all employee relations issues, coordinating with DHQ HR, when needed ; assists legal counsel and Divisional Headquarters by serving as a liaison with all aspects of legal documentation including EEOC charges, subpoenas, civil suits, etc.; researches and provides routine status on turnover, absenteeism, terminations, etc., to the Area Commanders and other key personnel.
