About The Position

We are looking for a Human Resources Management Specialist (HRMS). This position is exempt and 100% in-office. The location is 12844 State Highway 3W Ada, Oklahoma. Basic Purpose: Human Resources Management Specialists are assigned human resources duties managing the State of Oklahoma cloud-based software Workday. These duties include completing various human resources management activities and applying laws, rules, and standards related to personnel and human resources management. Responsibilities may include compensation, classification, recruiting, employee relations, personnel selection, onboarding, offboarding, employee benefits, time and leave, records keeping, training, and employee transactions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or four years of advanced-level technical clerical or human resources management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (for Level I).
  • Bachelor's degree plus one year of professional experience in human resources management or a master's degree in human resources, industrial/organizational psychology, public administration, sociology, psychology, or a closely related degree; or four years of advanced-level technical clerical or human resources management experience plus one year of professional experience in human resources management (for Level II).
  • Bachelor's degree plus two years of professional experience in human resources management or a master's degree in human resources, industrial/organizational psychology, public administration, sociology, psychology, or a closely related degree plus one year of professional experience in human resources management; or four years of advanced-level technical clerical or human resources management experience plus two years of professional experience in human resources management (for Level III).
  • Bachelor's degree plus three years of professional experience in human resources management; a master's degree in human resources, industrial/organizational psychology, public administration, sociology, psychology, or a closely related degree plus two years of professional experience in human resources management; or a doctorate in human resources, industrial/organizational psychology, public administration, sociology, psychology or a closely related degree; or four years of advanced-level technical clerical or human resources management experience plus three years of professional experience in human resources management (for Level IV).

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing personnel actions.
  • Evaluating job applications.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others.
  • Understanding and applying applicable rules, laws, and policies.
  • Analyzing and interpreting rules in various situations.
  • Administering various personnel programs, activities, and tasks.
  • Making independent decisions.
  • Performing highly independent work.
  • Providing training or mentoring to lower-level human resources management specialists.
  • Team lead responsibilities in projects, programs, or a unit regularly and consistently.
  • Coordinating staff and work assignments.
  • Reviewing work.
  • Ensuring the completion of assigned projects and tasks.
  • Providing leadership.
  • Providing guidance, instruction, and direction to lower-level human resources management specialists and other comparable responsibilities for coordinating and completing required activities.
