About The Position

Join an award-winning, nationally recognized design firm of architects, engineers, landscape architects, and planners as its HR Generalist in Lexington. You'll report to the Head of Human Resources and take ownership of day-to-day HR across five offices, from hiring and employee relations to benefits, performance management, and compliance. This is a great fit for a self-driven HR professional who wants real responsibility and a visible role in shaping company culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or a related field
• 6+ years of progressive HR experience
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed
• Authorization to work in the U.S.
• Solid command of employment laws and regulations
• Comfortable with standard office software and quick to learn HRIS and talent management systems

Nice To Haves

• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification (strongly preferred)
• Self-motivated, passionate about HR, and comfortable working independently
• Skilled in negotiation, conflict resolution, and building trust
• Organized, detail-oriented, and effective at managing competing priorities
• Analytical, with a practical approach to solving problems
• Professional and ethical, with a firm commitment to confidentiality

Responsibilities

• Manage the full hiring cycle, from job posting to offer, along with onboarding and offboarding.
• Resolve conflicts, conduct investigations, and guide disciplinary processes with fairness and discretion.
• Lead surveys, events, and stay and exit interviews that strengthen the employee experience.
• Oversee payroll and administer health and retirement plans, including annual open enrollment.
• Keep the firm aligned with federal, state, and local employment laws, and maintain policies and the employee handbook.
• Run the annual review process and support training programs.
• Serve as HRIS administrator and find ways to make HR work simpler and more efficient.
• Visit offices in Ohio and Texas periodically.
