About The Position

As a Human Resources Generalist, your goal is to provide Human Resources support to one or more group(s) of employees at our Sherrill, NY and Munnsville, NY manufacturing facilities. You will serve as the primary resource for employees and managers related to one or more functional HR areas, developing reports and analyzing as required, recommending action within HR and/or to employees and managers, and providing proactive resolution of employee concerns and problems with the goal of future problem prevention. You will also research, analyze and develop recommendations for continuous improvement of HR processes, procedures or programs to deliver innovative solutions to meet needs, and assist in the implementation of new or revised policies and procedures. Additionally, you will deliver written communications and presentations to communicate concepts related to one or more functional HR areas for diverse audiences of employees, and develop and conduct training and presentations. You will manage the recruitment efforts for hourly, exempt and nonexempt employees, students and temporary employees, and may conduct new-employee orientations. Proactively partner with managers to identify and develop talent within the assigned business, coaching employees and managers as necessary in the individual performance and development process to achieve career goals. Partner with the business to manage employee relations issues such as Performance Improvement Plans, investigations, and disciplinary measures. Work with managers and the Compensation team to ensure total compensation for the business is competitive, and identify, facilitate, and resolve compensation and benefits issues quickly. Support outsourced processes, such as FMLA/LOA and Workers Compensation, providing feedback when issues arise along with solutions. Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least three years of related professional, progressive experience in a human resources setting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of principles and practices of human resources functions and a specific function within HR
  • Strong organization and time management/project management skills necessary to prioritize and manage multiple, complex projects, potentially with conflicting priorities; ability to react quickly in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Good communication skills to facilitate work with diverse groups of employees
  • Demonstrated skills in employee relations with good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work independently and use sound judgment in decision making
  • Solid computer skills
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
