About The Position

The Human Resources Generalist serves as a key partner in the effective delivery of human resources across the organization, with a strong focus on compliance and employee relations. This role supports multiple divisions and the Operations team across locations, exercising independent judgment in interpreting and applying employment laws, policies, and procedures. The Human Resources Generalist plays a critical role in policy interpretation and enforcement, compliance monitoring, HR data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to support company goals. The position is based at the headquarters in West Los Angeles, CA, with a hybrid work schedule and regular partnership with teams in Salt Lake City, UT. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, the ability to manage multiple deadlines, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced HR environment.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in human resources management with a focus on compliance and employee relations.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices, with the ability to interpret and apply them in complex situations.
  • Proven ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion when advising on employee relations, policy interpretation, and compliance matters.
  • Experience supporting onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring adherence to company policies and legal requirements.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and compliant personnel records and manage HR data with attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective partnerships across divisions and levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced HR environment.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate issues and recommend practical solutions.
  • Experience conducting workplace investigations and handling sensitive employee relations matters with discretion and professionalism.
  • Ability to design and deliver training and coaching sessions for supervisors and employees on HR policies and practices.
  • Competence in analyzing HR metrics and using data to support decision-making and organizational initiatives.
  • Comfort working in a hybrid environment and collaborating with teams across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for HR Business Partner inquiries, analyzing issues and providing guidance consistent with company policy and employment laws.
  • Partner with the Sr Human Resources Generalist to manage onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring compliance and a consistent, positive employee experience.
  • Oversee the maintenance and integrity of personnel records to ensure compliance, data accuracy, and adherence to recordkeeping policies.
  • Design, develop, and deliver training and coaching programs for supervisors and employees on compliant timekeeping practices, corrective action, business unit policies, and policy interpretation.
  • Partner with division leaders to provide human resources guidance and direction that supports business objectives.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to business partners regarding leaves of absence, workers’ compensation and safety, timekeeping and attendance, and employee relations issues, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.
  • Conduct workplace employee investigations related to assigned business partner divisions, documenting findings and recommending appropriate actions.
  • Partner with the Human Resources Director to design and implement performance management, employee development, and engagement programs aligned with organizational strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant HR laws and regulations and stay current on changes in employment legislation and best practices.
  • Analyze human resources metrics and support HR initiatives that align with company goals and drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead or contribute to the development, interpretation, and implementation of HR policies and procedures, using independent judgment to ensure compliance and operational effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with hiring managers, supervisors, department leaders, and team members to foster collaboration, cohesion, and successful HR outcomes.
  • Independently manage or contribute to HR projects and initiatives, applying professional expertise to improve processes, compliance, and employee engagement.
  • Travel occasionally to other company locations, including Salt Lake City, UT, as needed to support HR activities.
  • Perform other related HR duties as assigned, in support of departmental and organizational objectives.
