The Human Resources Generalist is an integral part of the Jovia Team. This person will be responsible for administering and managing employee benefit and retirement programs and providing support to the HR team. This individual will also be responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or similar preferred. PHR/CP or SPHR/SCP preferred.
  • Three to Five years of Human Resources experience including but not limited to benefits, payroll, recruiting, or employee relations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong PC skills; Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint skills
  • Adaptability and flexibility in an ever-changing environment.
  • Detail-oriented
  • Must possess the ability to follow-up and function with minimal supervision
  • Exhibit a positive attitude, cooperative spirit, willing to work flexible hours when required
  • Must maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Internet speed of 100 mbps or higher required (you can test this by going to www.speedtest.net).
  • Able to dedicate a quiet space for daily work that is free of sound interruptions.

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day management of all health, welfare, and retirement programs including but not limited to benefits enrollment/termination process, COBRA, orientations, claims, and invoice reconciliation. Develop communications/materials for benefits annual enrollment, meetings, and events.
  • Manage various leave programs, including, but not limited to Short Term Disability, Family Medical Leave, Paid Family Leave, and Workers Compensation.
  • Maintain knowledge of and analyze federal/state regulations, plan documents, ERISA, IRS regulations, benefit program trends, and prevailing practices in the industry and similar organizations.
  • Process bi-weekly payroll and ensures accuracy of hours, deductions, and earnings codes. Resolve payroll discrepancies by working with the accounting department. Complete payroll reports for management as requested.
  • Demonstrate strong business acumen and understanding of how the departments they support affect the entire business.
  • Proactively seek out industry information and Human Resources best practices to continue self-development and bring new ideas to our team meetings.
  • Perform other duties, in addition to normal responsibilities, to help the overall workflow of the department and other departments, as assigned by the team leader or direct report such as participation on committees.
