About The Position

The Human Resources Generalist works closely with the Interim Director, Human Resources across the wide range of functions of the department, including staffing, recruitment, training and development, compensation, employee benefits and cost containment factors, performance management, HR policies, procedures, and practices, employee relations, and processing and general administrative responsibilities for ANSI and Workcred (“ANSI”). They also assist with the coordination of Human Resources policies, benefits, compensation program and administration with ANAB.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Human Resources or related field.
  • Two to three years of generalist experience in Human Resources.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and timely completion of work.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and respond to shift priorities on an as needed basis.
  • Professional and collegial demeaner with colleagues.
  • Ability to work effectively as a sole contributor in the department, and collaboratively when engaging other staff in HR-related work.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality about employees and other sensitive information.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to learn and effectively utilize Human Resources related applications and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the staffing and hiring process through the development and placement of internal and external job postings.
  • Conduct background checks on all new employees.
  • Execute the onboarding and orientation for newly hired employees.
  • Maintain the Human Resources information system (Workday), with complete and accurate employee files and related documentation.
  • Promote a positive workplace and professional working relationships between staff.
  • Work collaboratively with management and staff to respond to questions, concerns, or problems that may arise.
  • Communicate and monitor adherence to Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Administer ANSI and Workcred’s compensation program.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date job descriptions.
  • Administer ANSI, ANAB, and Workcred’s employee benefits plans.
  • Communicate with employees to provide information necessary for staff to make informed decisions about their participation in the plans.
  • Administer the annual performance evaluation process.
  • Protect the interests of the employees of ANSI and Workcred in accordance with Human Resources policies and governmental laws and regulations.
  • Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting Human Resources function.
  • Prepare information requested or required for compliance.
  • Processes all invoices for the department.
  • Conduct research on a variety of Human Resources topics as needed.
  • Support the work of the Planning Committee to provide social activities for staff, fund raising opportunities in support of community related causes, and other related events.
  • Administer ANSI and Workcred’s employee service recognition program.
  • Coordinate training programs for staff development efforts and training programs for employee growth and improved employee relations.
  • Maintain organizational charts.
  • Attend/complete assigned information security training by the designated completion date.
  • Read and adhere to published ISMS policies and procedures.
  • Report timely any observed violations of ISMS policy - or known encroachments on information security - to your department leader and/or the Information Technology Department.
