About The Position

We have over 700 team members in five locations in Florida and two in North Carolina and are looking for an awesome HR Generalist to join our team and grow with us. The right HR Generalist has the ability to build relationships, respect, and trust with our team and has excellent written and verbal communication skills. Someone with the ability to lead and develop a team would fit well with us. Of course, integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality are a must. Proficiency and/or the ability to quickly and effectively learn our HRIS and LMS systems required. Microsoft Office Suite expertise required. We work hard but also have fun so a sense of humor is an absolute must!

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or equivalent HR Generalist work experience
Ability to build relationships and trust/respect
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including a positive, genuine, and outgoing demeanor
Strong business acumen and consulting skills preferred
Ability to lead a team to desired results
Excellent organizational and detail orientation skills
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
Comprehensive knowledge of HR programs/proven practices as well as employment-related laws and regulations
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Proficiency with or the ability to learn our HRIS and LMS systems quickly and effectively
Valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and pre-employment background check screening, including 10 years of employment verification, are required to be hired at Wayne Automatic.

Responsibilities

Handles employment-related inquiries from team members, applicants, and managers, partnering with HR Manager and Director on complex and/or sensitive matters.
Becomes immersed in our culture, enforcing and promoting it in all team member interactions and development of programs.
Becomes an expert in Paycom, providing recommendations and implementing changes to improve efficiency and training users as needed.
Consults with managers on disciplinary matters; prepares disciplinary documents; and attends meetings with team members as needed.
Attends and participates in termination meetings.
Ensure collaboration with HR Manager and/or HR Director as needed.
Assists HR Director and/or Manager with investigations if needed.
Maintains compliance with all federal, state, and local employment regulations and laws.
Regularly reviews new regulatory information to ensure compliance and implements changes at WAFS as needed.
Regularly researches best HR practices and makes recommendations on updates to HR Manager and/or Director.
Maintains knowledge of trends and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Becomes cross-trained in all duties of the HR team, filling in for absences as needed.
Handle all requests for legal information and contract information for team members, partnering with WAFS General Counsel as needed and ensuring HR Manager and Director are informed.
Partner with HR Manager on WAFS safety programs and initiatives.
Oversees and administers the workers’ compensation process from initial injury reporting to claim closure, including timely filing of claims, maintaining accurate documentation, coordinating with insurance carriers and healthcare providers, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and guiding employees through recovery while facilitating an effective return to work process.
Handle all required legal filings, including 401(k) 5500, EEO-1, OSHA Log, and others.
Handle all employment verifications for current team members.
Work with Managers and HR Manager on the interactive process for the Americans with Disabilities Act and ensure each request for reasonable accommodation is handled individually and in conjunction with FMLA and health insurance programs.
Administer and support team member health benefits programs, including open enrollment, changes, and employee inquiries, while serving as the primary point of contact for benefit carriers to resolve issues, coordinate services, and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
Administer and assign permissions in Paycom.
Prepare and provide quarterly reports for the HR Director, overtime, workers’ compensation, and others as requested.
Create a manual for each task to be used in training.
Administer and process unemployment claims on behalf of WAFS.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
