About The Position

The HR Generalist supports the day-to-day human resources operations at DeWys Metal Solutions. This role involves onboarding new team members, maintaining accurate records and files, keeping the HRIS (Paylocity) up to date, and serving as a friendly, dependable first point of contact for team member questions. The position works alongside existing HR generalists and the Director of Human Resources, taking on recurring work and providing coverage during an upcoming team member leave. This is a hands-on role for an HR professional who understands core generalist functions and is happy to learn and adapt. The ideal candidate is kind, humble, detail-oriented, and team-first, with a genuine care for people. Responsibilities can be shaped around the candidate's strengths and expertise.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of core HR generalist functions, including onboarding, records administration, HRIS data management, and benefits and policy questions, with the resourcefulness to figure out what you do not already know.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Warm, clear communication with team members at every level, from the office to the shop floor.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft 365 suite.
  • High integrity and discretion with sensitive and confidential information.
  • A kind, humble, team-first approach, with openness to feedback and a genuine care for people.

Nice To Haves

  • Paylocity experience is a strong plus.
  • Experience in manufacturing or a related industry is a plus.
  • HR certification (SHRM-CP or PHR) is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver onboarding for new team members, including new hire paperwork, orientation logistics, and first day readiness.
  • Maintain accurate, current, and confidential team member files and HR documentation.
  • Enter and maintain team member data and changes in Paylocity.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for team member questions about benefits, policies, and general HR topics, answering promptly and escalating to the HR team when needed.
  • Make monthly visits to six locations to support team members and managers on site.
  • Take on recurring administrative work that keeps HR running, support HR team projects, and provide dependable coverage during a team member leave.
  • Contribute in other HR functions that match your background and expertise.
