About The Position

The Human Resources Generalist serves as the primary HR partner for Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs), providing day-to-day HR support to leaders and teammates while ensuring alignment with organizational policies, procedures, and strategic people initiatives. This role acts as the face of Human Resources within the assigned centers, partnering closely with facility leadership to support employee relations, performance management, talent acquisition, onboarding, engagement, compliance, and leave administration. The HR Generalist serves as a trusted advisor to managers and teammates, helping foster a positive workplace culture while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws. This position reports directly to the Head of Human Resources and collaborates with operational and clinical leadership across all assigned facilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive Human Resources experience required.
• Experience handling employee relations investigations required.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
• Strong employee relations and conflict-resolution skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to build relationships and influence leaders at all levels.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities across several facilities.
• Proficiency with HRIS, payroll, and applicant tracking systems.

Nice To Haves

• Experience supporting multiple locations preferred.
• Healthcare, ambulatory surgery center, hospital, or clinical environment experience strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting leave administration and performance management processes preferred.
• PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
• Ability to travel regularly between assigned facilities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary HR contact for assigned ASC leaders and teammates.
• Build strong relationships with facility leadership teams and provide guidance on people-related matters.
• Partner with leaders to identify workforce needs and develop proactive solutions.
• Support organizational initiatives, change management efforts, and culture-building activities.
• Provide guidance and coaching to managers regarding employee performance, conduct, attendance, and workplace concerns.
• Conduct employee relations investigations and recommend appropriate resolutions.
• Partner with leadership and the Head of HR to address complex employee relations issues.
• Assist with corrective action documentation and performance improvement plans.
• Promote a positive employee experience through timely and professional support.
• Support recruiting activities for assigned facilities, including candidate screening, interview coordination, and hiring processes.
• Partner with hiring managers to ensure effective recruitment and onboarding strategies.
• Facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding activities.
• Ensure all pre-employment requirements are completed in accordance with organizational standards in partnership with the HR Representative.
• Serve as a resource for teammates regarding leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, parental leave, and other protected leaves.
• Partner with HR Representative and the Head of HR to ensure proper leave administration.
• Assist teammates with benefits-related questions and enrollment support.
• Educate managers regarding leave-related responsibilities and compliance requirements.
• Support annual performance review processes and talent management initiatives.
• Coach managers on performance management best practices.
• Assist with succession planning and employee development efforts.
• Identify training opportunities that support teammate growth and organizational objectives.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws, organizational policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain employee records and HR documentation in accordance with company standards.
• Assist with policy implementation and employee communications.
• Support audits, reporting, and compliance-related activities.
• Monitor trends and provide recommendations to improve HR processes and employee experience.
• Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and culture-building activities.
• Facilitate communication between leadership and teammates.
• Participate in employee meetings and facility leadership meetings as appropriate.
• Assist in developing and implementing programs that enhance retention and engagement.
