About The Position

Nidec Motor Corporation is seeking an HR Generalist I to support our manufacturing site in Brooklyn Heights, Ohio. This role serves as the primary on-site HR resource, providing day-to-day support to employees and leaders while partnering closely with a broader centralized HR team for guidance, alignment, and support. This position is ideal for an early-career HR professional looking to build broad generalist experience in a manufacturing environment while supporting employee life cycle processes, employee relations, and HR program execution at the site level.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • HR internship or 1+ years of entry-level HR experience preferred.
  • Foundational understanding of HR principles and practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data entry.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Willingness to learn and develop broad HR generalist capabilities.
  • Proficiency with HR systems (Workday or similar HRIS experience preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of core HR programs, including onboarding, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Assist with day-to-day HR processes across multiple functional areas.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of HR activities in alignment with established policies and procedures.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for employees and managers, responding to routine HR inquiries.
  • Provide guidance on HR policies and procedures within defined guidelines.
  • Escalate complex or sensitive matters to appropriate HR leaders or Centers of Excellence.
  • Assist with employee relations matters under HR leadership guidance.
  • Support documentation, tracking, and follow-up on employee concerns.
  • Participate in performance management and corrective action processes as directed.
  • Process HR transactions, including employee updates, job changes, and terminations.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in accordance with privacy and retention standards.
  • Support preparation of standard HR reports and metrics.
  • Ensure proper handling of sensitive and confidential information.
  • Follow company policies, employment regulations, and HR standards.
  • Support audits, compliance reviews, and reporting requirements as needed.
  • Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with site leadership to support day-to-day HR needs and ensure alignment with business priorities.
  • Help drive consistent application of HR practices at the site level while collaborating with the centralized HR team.
  • Contribute to a positive and productive employee experience across the location.
