About The Position

The HR Generalist supports the full employee life cycle and serves as a key member of the HR & People Operations team. This role coordinates talent acquisition, pre-hire activities, onboarding, and New Hire Orientation, benefits administration support, offboarding preparation, employee records and updates, and other HR operational needs. The HR Generalist partners with employees, hiring managers, HR team members, and benefit vendors to deliver accurate, timely, and consistent employee experiences.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered
  • 3+ years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience supporting multiple areas of the employee life cycle
  • Experience with talent acquisition, onboarding/New Hire Orientation, benefits administration, and employee offboarding processes
  • Experience using an HRIS; Paylocity experience is a plus
  • Working knowledge of HR practices, employment policies, and the importance of consistent documentation and confidentiality
  • Critical attention to detail, especially for written communication, employee records, and system data
  • Self-motivated, self-directed, and able to demonstrate ownership of assigned responsibilities
  • Committed to meeting deadlines while remaining flexible and able to pivot when priorities change
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, follow guidance and approval processes, and escalate matters appropriately
  • Ability to communicate professionally and work effectively with employees and all levels of management

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 5+ years of broad HR Generalist experience preferred; PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar HR certification is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates talent acquisition and pre-hire activities, including job postings, hiring-manager communication, offer letters, and pre-employment workflows
  • Owns and coordinates onboarding and New Hire Orientation activities, ensuring new employees receive timely communication, required resources, system access support, and a consistent introduction to the organization
  • Supports benefits administration, employee changes, offboarding preparation, employee inquiries, and other HR duties and special projects as needed
  • Posts approved job requisitions and coordinates the interview process with hiring managers and applicants
  • Coordinates candidate communications, offer letters, and pre-hire onboarding workflows and tasks using the Paylocity HRIS platform and other approved tools
  • Coordinates onboarding activities and prepares workspaces and onboarding materials for incoming new hires
  • Facilitates New Hire Orientation and serves as a point of contact for new employees throughout the onboarding process
  • Creates new hire announcements and other onboarding communications
  • Coordinates or assists with IT, system access, equipment, and other new hire requests
  • Coordinates benefit enrollment information and assists with entering new hire benefit elections, as assigned
  • Responds to routine employee benefits questions and escalates complex issues as appropriate
  • Coordinates benefit information sessions, vendor meetings, and employee education opportunities
  • Performs assigned ACA and benefits-related tasks in Paylocity, including employee additions, terminations, and data updates for reporting
  • Supports annual open enrollment communications, system updates, employee questions, and related tasks
  • Coordinates the annual health and benefits fair and other wellness-related events, as applicable
  • Supports benefit audits for health and wellness plans and 401(k) plans, as needed
  • Maintains accurate employee records and assists with HRIS updates and routine HR documentation throughout the employee life cycle
  • Performs administrative HR duties, supports employee inquiries, and assists with special projects as needed
  • Prepares exit letters, separation checklists, and pertinent benefit and employment documents
  • Coordinates exit meetings, final HR communications, and return-of-company-property activities with employees and appropriate internal partners
  • May facilitate exit meetings and communicate routine separation information and next steps
  • Processes or coordinates employee terminations and required updates in Paylocity and applicable benefit vendor systems
  • Assists with HR compliance activities, employee file maintenance, audits, reporting, and documentation
  • Partners with HR team members and managers on employee changes, internal communications, and employee experience initiatives
  • Maintains confidentiality and handles employee information with discretion and sound judgment
  • Assists with HR projects, process improvements, company events, and other duties as assigned
