About The Position

The Human Resources Generalist will perform all aspects of the HR function with an emphasis on compliance, employee relations, recruitment, development, and special projects. This role involves reviewing and ensuring compliance with training and certifications, maintaining adherence to employment laws and regulations, and staying updated on HR best practices and technologies. The Generalist will provide administrative support, manage employee recognition programs and company events, and consult with employees and management to improve performance and implement HR processes. Key responsibilities include investigating and resolving employee and management issues, interpreting FMLA and ADA regulations, and communicating benefit programs. The role also involves partnering with Shared Services to address employee complaints related to health and welfare plans, and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Human Resources or related major required
  • 1-3 years of HR experience required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail along with time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS.
  • Must provide proof of US Citizenship and attest that you do not have dual citizenship.
  • Acceptable proof of US Citizenship is a US Passport, US Birth Certificate or Naturalization Certificate.

Nice To Haves

  • HR certifications are a plus
  • experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Provides timely and accurate administrative support to the Human Resources Department.
  • Maintains and coordinates employee recognition program and other company sponsored events.
  • Consults with employees and management teams to enhance employee performance, improve leadership skills, and implement HR related processes/procedures.
  • Investigates, coaches, and resolves issues in a positive and creative manner with both employees and managers.
  • Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
  • Strives to ensure employee understanding of benefit programs by regularly generating communication and counseling employees/dependents as situations arise.
  • Partners with FMD’s Shared Services to resolve employee complaints related to health and welfare plans.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
