About The Position

The Human Resources Generalist plays a critical role in fostering a safe, compliant, and productive work environment across the organization. This position is responsible for managing a broad range of HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance with labor laws, while supporting workplace safety programs to minimize risks and ensure regulatory adherence. This role requires collaboration with management and employees to develop and implement policies that promote employee well-being and organizational effectiveness. By integrating HR best practices with proactive safety management, this position helps drive a culture of continuous improvement and accountability. Ultimately, the Human Resources Generalist ensures that both human capital and workplace safety standards align with the company’s strategic goals and legal requirements.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of HR practices including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and benefits administration.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to coordinate workplace safety activities, training, and compliance efforts.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and basic EHS programs.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Analytical skills to support reporting and continuous improvement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in human resources with demonstrated knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience in workplace safety coordination, including familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety program implementation.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in HR information systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • HR or safety certifications (e.g., SHRM, OSHA)
  • Professional certification such as SHRM-CP, PHR, or Certified Safety Professional (CSP), OSHA 30-hour Certification, First Aid/CPR/AED
  • Advanced knowledge of HR administration and workers’ compensation processes.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering employee training programs related to safety and compliance.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision making and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment processes including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding to attract and retain top talent.
  • Support employee benefits programs, payroll coordination, and maintain accurate HR records in compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee relations issues, providing guidance and conflict resolution to foster a positive work environment.
  • Maintain employee records and HRIS data in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Assist with performance management processes, including evaluations and disciplinary actions.
  • Assist leadership with workforce planning and organizational development.
  • Support and monitor workplace safety programs, including conducting safety audits, new hire safety orientations, annual refreshers etc, and incident investigations to ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory bodies.
  • Collaborate with management to update HR policies and safety procedures, ensuring alignment with evolving legal requirements and organizational objectives.
  • Manage workers’ compensation claims by coordinating with insurance carriers, serving as the primary liaison with work administrators, and monitoring employee return-to-work plans and status to ensure timely and compliant transition.
