About The Position

The Human Resources Generalist II (Senior Human Resource Generalist) partners with managers and employees to deliver comprehensive human resources support with primary responsibility for employee relations, performance management, compensation administration, and HR operations. The HR Generalist II also provides talent acquisition support during periods of increased hiring activity and contributes to workforce planning, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field.
  • 5 or more years of progressive Human Resources Generalist experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing employee relations and performance management processes.
  • Experience supporting compensation administration, job evaluations, and salary benchmarking.
  • Experience recruiting exempt and non-exempt positions, preferably in a high-volume or surge hiring environment.
  • Experience with HRIS administration and HR compliance.
  • Work well in a team environment
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Possess excellent organizational skills and oral and written communication skills
  • Must have excellent customer service skills
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications at an intermediate level.
  • English fluency (oral and written)

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • HR certification (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification or PHR or SPHR), or a desire to obtain the HR certification within 12-18 months of hire.
  • HR experience in Employee Relations and Benefits Administration.
  • HR experience in government contracting organization.
  • HR compliance in California

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary HR partner, providing guidance on employee relations matters, policy interpretation, workplace concerns, and corrective action.
  • Partners with managers to resolve employee relations issues while ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies.
  • Leads the administration of the performance management program, including annual reviews, goal setting, coaching conversations, performance improvement plans, and manager training.
  • Assists in investigations involving employee complaints and recommends appropriate resolutions.
  • Maintains job descriptions and partners with managers to ensure roles accurately reflect organizational needs.
  • Assists with compensation benchmarking, salary surveys, market pricing, and maintenance of salary bands and job families.
  • Supports annual compensation review processes, including merit increases, promotions, and internal equity analyses.
  • Provides recruiting support during periods of increased hiring activity by partnering with hiring managers to develop job descriptions, source candidates, screen applicants, coordinate interviews, extend offers, and facilitate onboarding.
  • Maintains candidate pipelines for critical positions and assists with workforce planning initiatives.
  • Partners with the Talent Acquisition Specialist to ensure a positive candidate experience and timely hiring.
  • Assists with employment branding, recruiting events, and internship or university recruiting initiatives as needed.
  • Maintains HRIS records, onboarding, offboarding, and employee data integrity.
  • Administers HR policies and procedures and assists with maintaining the employee handbook and HR SharePoint.
  • Assists with new employee orientation and employee development initiatives.
  • Partners with the HR team to administer employee engagement activities and company events.
  • Provides guidance to employees regarding HR policies, benefits, and employment practices.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Participates in department projects focused on process improvement and operational efficiency.
