About The Position

The Human Resources Generalist I serves as the primary HR contact for multiple manufacturing facilities, providing day-to-day support in the administration of human resources programs, payroll processing, benefits administration, employee records management, and policy implementation. This position partners closely with corporate HR, plant leadership, and employees to ensure accurate HR administration, compliance with company policies, and exceptional customer service.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of Human Resources experience required.
  • Experience processing payroll and HR administration required.
  • Must be bilingual and fluent in English and Spanish
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage competing deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with corporate HR and operational leadership.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use a computer for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field preferred.
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar HR certification preferred.
  • Experience supporting multiple locations or manufacturing operations preferred.
  • Experience using ADP Workforce Now is strongly preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate employee personnel records and HRIS data.
  • Process all employee employment record changes, including new hires, transfers, promotions, compensation changes, status changes, leaves of absence, and terminations.
  • Ensure employee files and HR documentation are complete, accurate, and maintained in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Respond to employee and manager questions regarding HR policies, procedures, and employment practices.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee information and sensitive company data.
  • Utilize ADP Workforce Now to maintain employee records and process employment transactions.
  • Process payroll accurately and timely for assigned facilities.
  • Review payroll data for accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and coordinate corrections as needed.
  • Maintain employee timekeeping records and assist managers with timecard review and approvals.
  • Troubleshoot payroll and timekeeping issues and partner with Corporate Payroll as necessary.
  • Generate standard HR and payroll reports as requested.
  • Coordinate benefit enrollments for newly hired employees and employees experiencing qualifying life events.
  • Facilitate annual Open Enrollment activities, including employee communications, enrollment assistance, and verification of completed elections.
  • Educate employees regarding available benefit programs and enrollment procedures.
  • Coordinate with Corporate Benefits to resolve employee benefit questions and eligibility issues.
  • Communicate corporate HR initiatives, policies, procedures, and announcements to assigned facilities.
  • Ensure employees receive timely and accurate HR-related communications.
  • Assist with employee meetings, informational sessions, and training initiatives.
  • Promote consistent application of company policies across assigned locations.
  • Escalate employee relations issues to Corporate HR as appropriate.
  • Support investigations, documentation, and follow-up regarding workplace issues when requested.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Support I-9, E-Verify, and employment eligibility compliance requirements.
  • Maintain required employment records and documentation in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and reports.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities for new hires.
  • Prepare new hire paperwork and ensure all required documentation is completed.
  • Partner with recruiters and hiring managers to facilitate a smooth onboarding experience.
  • Participate in orientation and new employee integration activities.
