About The Position

The Human Resources Generalist I provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources team with a strong focus on recruiting, recordkeeping, benefits support, onboarding, and employee engagement. This entry-level role ensures HR processes are executed accurately, consistently, and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations across all states of operation. The position requires strong attention to detail, organization, and discretion while supporting multiple HR functions.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Basic knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance concepts
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Experience supporting audits or recordkeeping processes

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship or entry-level experience in Human Resources or compliance preferred
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems preferred
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certifications
  • 3-5 years of recruiting experience
  • Experience facilitating orientations and employee training

Responsibilities

  • Leads full-cycle recruiting for assigned positions, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer coordination, and onboarding
  • Leads new hire orientation room setup and cleanup
  • Facilitates new hire orientation on a rotating schedule
  • Assists with onboarding preparation and documentation
  • Supports job fairs and recruiting events as needed
  • Monitors federal, state, and local employment laws and compliance deadlines (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, OSHA) across applicable states of operation and escalate updates to HR leadership
  • Maintains compliant employee records, including personnel files, I-9s, and medical files
  • Ensures proper retention and secure destruction of HR records in accordance with record retention schedules
  • Conducts internal audits of employee files and HR processes
  • Performs regularly scheduled audits, including new hire files, active and inactive I-9s, and termination folders
  • Prepares documentation for external audits or investigations as requested
  • Supports the Total Rewards Manager with benefits compliance audits and reporting
  • Assists with planning and execution of employee engagement events and initiatives
  • Supports employee surveys, data collection, and analysis
  • Provides recommendations to improve employee engagement based on participation and feedback
  • Coordinates and schedule company tours, including communication with external guests and internal tour guides
  • Coordinates company sponsorship requests and process payments upon HR leadership approval
  • Assists with coordination and execution of All Hands meetings and company-wide events
