About The Position

TouchTronics, Inc. is seeking a talented and motivated Human Resources Generalist I to join our Human Resources team in Elkhart, Indiana. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who is ready to expand their experience across multiple areas of Human Resources while serving as a key onsite resource for employees and managers. The HR Generalist I independently administers day-to-day Human Resources operations and exercises professional judgment in applying established HR policies, addressing routine employee and workforce matters, prioritizing HR activities, identifying compliance and process concerns, and determining appropriate action within delegated authority. The successful candidate will be highly organized, responsive, discreet, employee-focused, and comfortable managing multiple HR responsibilities in a fast-paced work environment.

Requirements

  • A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience is required.
  • Experience across multiple HR functional areas is preferred, including: Employee relations, HR administration, Recruiting and onboarding, Benefits administration, Leave administration, HRIS and employee records, Employment compliance.
  • Candidates should be proficient with computers and standard office technology and demonstrate the ability to use or quickly learn: Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), Electronic personnel and document-management systems, Benefits administration portals, Reporting tools, Standard business and office software.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail when working with HR technology and employee data are essential.

Nice To Haves

  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and relevant Human Resources experience will be considered.
  • No professional HR certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary onsite HR resource for routine employee and supervisor questions.
  • Independently evaluate day-to-day HR matters, apply established policies and procedures, determine appropriate routine action, and identify matters requiring consultation or higher-level review when warranted.
  • Administer onboarding, employee status changes, offboarding, employment verifications, personnel documentation, and other employee lifecycle processes.
  • Use independent judgment to identify and resolve documentation discrepancies and ensure required HR processes are completed accurately and timely.
  • Maintain and audit HRIS data, personnel files, I-9 records, attendance information, training records, and other required HR documentation.
  • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or missing documentation and determine appropriate corrective administrative action within established parameters.
  • Administer benefits-related documentation, routine leave processes, workers' compensation documentation, employee communications, and other recurring HR programs.
  • Recognize matters requiring higher-level compliance interpretation or consultation.
  • Prioritize daily HR workflow, manage competing deadlines, and follow through on employee and management needs without requiring continuous supervision.
  • Conduct initial fact-finding regarding employee concerns and review relevant records and documentation.
  • Address routine, lower-risk employee-relations matters within delegated authority using professional HR judgment.
  • Develop recommendations and seek consultation or higher-level review when circumstances involve material risk, significant disciplinary action, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, accommodation, termination, or other complex employment matters.
  • Provide managers and employees with routine HR guidance based on approved policies, established procedures, and professional judgment.
  • Identify matters requiring review or consultation with the HR Consultant.
  • Monitor recurring HR compliance requirements, deadlines, required notices, personnel-record obligations, and assigned compliance-calendar activities.
  • Identify potential compliance gaps and recommend appropriate corrective action.
  • Maintain OSHA and workplace-safety administrative records, required training documentation, workers' compensation records, and related HR documentation.
  • Coordinate required administrative follow-up and identify material safety or compliance matters requiring higher-level review.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee, medical, compensation, investigation, and company information.
  • Coordinate job postings, applicant communications, interview scheduling, and recruiting workflow.
  • Review applicant information against established job requirements and make initial candidate recommendations as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate applicant and recruiting records within the Applicant Tracking System.
  • Track hiring activity and identify process delays, outstanding requirements, or documentation gaps.
  • Coordinate pre-employment requirements and onboarding activities.
  • Confirm that required approvals, documentation, and employee-readiness steps are completed before new employees begin work.
  • Prepare routine Human Resources reports and documentation.
  • Analyze workforce and HR administrative information and identify trends, concerns, or areas requiring additional review.
  • Assist with implementation of HR process improvements, policies, forms, systems, and workflow standards.
  • Support leaders and other departments as needed.
  • Perform other Human Resources duties consistent with the scope and level of the position.
