About The Position

Ames National Laboratory, a U.S. Department of Energy federally contracted National Laboratory located in Ames, Iowa, is seeking a Human Resources Generalist. This role serves as the primary point of contact for the department, providing customer service and supporting various human resources functions. The successful candidate will manage business processes for undergraduate students, graduate assistants, Ames Laboratory contributors, visitors, and other appointments. Responsibilities include supporting recruitment, ensuring systems compliance and data integrity, providing guidance to employees and supervisors, processing visa verifications, and responding to inquiries. The HR Generalist reports to the Senior HR Generalist and collaborates with individuals across Ames National Laboratory and Iowa State University.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree
Legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

Experience in human resources and knowledge of HR principles and practices
Strong customer service and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail
Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Experience with HRIS systems
Proficient skill in data entry, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite

Responsibilities
