About The Position

Human Resources Generalist I City of Edinburg in Edinburg, TX is actively seeking a dedicated Human Resources Generalist I to perform functions within various Human Resources divisions to include Risk Management, Benefits & Wellness, Human Resources & Civil Service. This position earns competitive pay of $18.95/hr. Requirements

  • Associates Degree from an accredited college/university
  • 1 year of experience in Human Resources Administration
  • Current and valid class "C" driver's license (CDL) from the Texas Department of Public Safety
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree majoring in Government, Public Administration, Business Administration or related field of study.
  • Three (3) years' experience in Human Resources or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the maintenance/evaluation of recruitment and staffing policies, procedures, processes, programs, projects, strategies, job descriptions and actions.
  • Researching and gathering information on recruiting tactics and best practices.
  • Participating in recruiting, wellness and/or safety initiatives.
  • Assisting with new hire orientation, exit interviews, and benefits interviews.
  • Conducting incident investigations related to on-the-job injuries and/or accidents with/to general public.
  • Processing related claims, guiding employees and general public through the process, and communicating with medical providers and/or department heads on progress.
  • Balancing worker's compensation, automobile, general liability and real & personal property premiums and changes to include restitutions and reimbursements.
  • Maintaining division records; reconcile monthly premiums.
  • Processing insurance changes, calculating deductions, reimbursements, and payment submittal.
  • Cross-training and assisting in different capacities within the Department.
  • Providing customer service and completing moderate administrative functions.
  • Providing assistance and support to other divisions within the department as needed.
