About The Position

Supports and advises district and school-based administration on all human resource functions necessary for recruiting, hiring and retaining qualified, highly effective staff. Coordinates with district stakeholders and the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in support of district Human Resource related functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, 5 years of experience can be substituted for a degree
  • One to three years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of School Committee policy related to Human Resources functions.
  • Knowledge of progressive discipline and grievance procedures for all groups.
  • Knowledge of the legal requirements related to Human Resources related functions.
  • Knowledge of district benefits and the ability to convey them to the candidates in a clear understanding manner
  • Ability to meet with colleges to create programs that will help to supply our district with highly qualifed teachers/substitute teachers
  • Ability to assist in ensuring the school operates within that allocation with regards to their staff
  • Ability to respond to accurately to emails
  • Ability to handle common inquiries or complaints
  • Ability to respond to questions from students, faculty, staff, and visitors
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts for caluculation of payroll and other projects
  • Ability to effectively communicate with applicants and staff
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of data and instructions in written, oral, schedule, mathematical, or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

Responsibilities

  • Manages the substitute teacher system, including the recruitment, onboarding and payroll
  • Provides training and assistance to principals, principal clerks and other personnel regarding substitute teacher assignments
  • Provides support in creating and implementing initiatives to recruit and retain qualified and highly effective staff.
  • Provides weekly reports to administrators and other personnel
  • Maintains documentation and spreadsheets
  • Attends and prepares documents for meetings, trainings and workshops
  • Coordinates with colleges/universities for student teacher pre-practicums, observations and internship placements in district schools.
  • Assists with the districts pipeline programs
  • Attends job fairs
  • Assists with presentations
  • Assists with human resource departmental functions.
  • Performs related duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
