The Human Resources Coordinator supports daily HR functions that help Hilo Fish Company attract, onboard, and retain a dependable, engaged workforce. Requirements
- Two or more years of relevant HR, payroll, office administration and recruiting experience.
- Valid State of Hawaii driver's license required.
- Excellent written, verbal and basic math skills.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to maintain good judgment, and a cairn demeanor in all interpersonal engagements.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; Associate degree and equivalent combination of education and relevant experience considered.
Responsibilities
- Partner with outsourced HR Services Provider to manage day-to-day HR and payroll operations.
- Review, process, and track employment applications and support recruiting activities.
- Coordinate new hire onboarding, including preparation of employment documentation, orientation scheduling, and employee file management.
- Process payroll information accurately and on a timely basis, including new hires, terminations, compensation changes, and other payroll-related updates.
- Administer employee benefits enrollment, changes, and related documentation.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Ensure HR processes are administered consistently and in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Serve as a resource for team members regarding payroll, benefits, company policies, and routine employment matters, including responding to questions related to pay, paid time off, benefit eligibility and enrollment.
- Assist team members in resolving routine issues, completing forms and documentation, and navigating HR processes.
- Escalate complex employee relations, compliance, or personnel matters to management as appropriate while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Assist management with employee communications, policy administration, and general HR support.
- Support special HR projects and other administrative duties as assigned.
