About The Position

Bill Wilson Center provides services to children, youth, young adults, and families in Santa Clara County. Additionally, we reach clients through our street outreach and crisis line programs. Bill Wilson Center programs focus on housing, mental health care, supportive services, and advocacy. The HR Coordinator works collaboratively across the agency acting as a bridge between HR, IT and Bill Wilson Center programs for positive impact. This position will focus on talent acquisition, onboarding and support technical operations. The ideal candidate has an enthusiasm for learning. Requirements

  • At minimum, Associate’s degree. Ideally a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or a related field.
  • Two years of HR Coordinator experience or an equivalent combination of education plus experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and/or GoogleSuite.
  • Familiarity with Paycom or other HRIS systems is highly desirable.
  • Exposure to Human Resources practices including federal, state and local laws.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience working with culturally diverse staff required.
  • Possesses high degree of attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable presenting information in a group setting.
  • Able to balance multiple assignments in a fast-paced work environment while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Acts as a role model within the agency.
  • Must have a valid California Driver’s License, reliable transportation and be able to drive between agency worksites on an as needed basis.

Nice To Haves

  • HR certifications are a plus.
  • Familiarity with Paycom or other HRIS systems is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a beacon for our values, enhancing the agency culture through your actions.
  • Leads the talent acquisition process including recruitment, hiring and onboarding.
  • Conducts new hire onboarding creating a stellar new hire “experience”.
  • Maintains employee files and employee records within Paycom, HRIS system including new hire data, annual pay increases, promotions, transfers, and terminations.
  • Acts as ATS subject matter expert.
  • Responds to general inquiries from employees and managers regarding HR policies and best practices.
  • Responds to verification of employment requests.
  • Creates and presents weekly and monthly metrics reporting and dashboards.
  • Collaborates with IT consultants to provide system access to new employees and deploy laptops during onboarding.
  • Coordinates removal of system access and collects laptops from exiting employees during offboarding.
  • Collaborates with IT consultants to assign cellphones/desk phones, track phone number assignments and maintain telephone inventory.
  • Maintains agency seating plan.
  • Reconciles HR related invoices coordinating payment through Finance department.
  • Builds relationships with community partners creating talent pipelines.
  • Plans and facilitates career fairs and hiring events.
  • Supports agency initiatives including benefits, training and employee engagement.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Acts in the best interest of the agency.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
