About The Position

Youngstown Area Goodwill is seeking a full-time Human Resources Coordinator to join their HR team at their Main Office in Youngstown, OH. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable with technology, and interested in growing their career in Human Resources. The HR Coordinator will play an important role in the day-to-day operations of Human Resources, supporting employees and managers throughout the employment lifecycle while contributing to the strengthening of HR systems, processes, compliance, and the overall employee experience. This position involves more than just paperwork, requiring a blend of strong administrative skills and excellent internal customer service.

Requirements

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Comfortable working with technology and learning new systems.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Professional and comfortable communication with employees and managers.
  • Ability to notice when something doesn't look right and take initiative to follow up.
  • Ability to work independently while knowing when an issue needs to be escalated.
  • Understanding of the importance of discretion and strict confidentiality in Human Resources.
  • Willingness to jump in when priorities change.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now, SharePoint, an HRIS, or similar business systems.
  • Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Office Administration, or a related field.
  • One or more years of HR, administrative, payroll, office, or related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Process employee changes, employment verifications, terminations, drug-testing documentation, badges, uniforms, garnishments, and other employee transactions.
  • Maintain accurate employee information and HR records, and help keep systems, spreadsheets, tracking tools, and HR SharePoint resources current.
  • Coordinate the annual performance-review process, track completion, communicate deadlines, and maintain documentation.
  • Assist with OSHA recordkeeping, HR audits, compliance tracking, reporting, and other documentation.
  • Coordinate exit documentation and exit interviews, and help ensure separation processes are completed properly.
  • Take a lead role in coordinating HR-sponsored morale, recognition, retention, and employee-engagement activities.
  • Help develop communications, flyers, reports, presentations, tracking tools, and other resources while participating in HR projects and process improvements.
  • Work directly with employees, managers, payroll, and other departments.
