Your work will help ensure employees feel informed, supported, and valued as they serve God’s mission. As a key member of the Benefits Services team, the Human Resources Communication & Program Specialist serves as a primary liaison between HR and employees across field teams, support staff, and leadership. In this role, you will own and manage several employee benefit and engagement programs from start to finish, while also responding to employee and retiree inquiries with empathy, clarity, and accuracy. This position offers the opportunity to blend program management, communication, and ministry-minded service in a collaborative HR environment.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in communications, benefits administration, human resources, or a related field.
  • Proven experience managing employee programs and handling employee inquiries.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer-service mindset.
  • High attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems (such as Workday) and Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and departments.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and committed to confidentiality and discretion.
  • Demonstrates a mature Christian walk rooted in Scripture, prayer, and active church involvement.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage assigned employee programs, including Retiree HRA Administration, Wellness Program, Journeyman Program, Donated PTO Program, and NAMB Notes.
  • Own the full lifecycle of each program—from launch and communication to intake, eligibility review, follow-up, and closure.
  • Develop and maintain clear program documentation, guides, and employee-facing communications.
  • Perform data reconciliation, track participation, and coordinate with internal partners to ensure accurate processing.
  • Generate reports, dashboards, summaries, and surveys to support compliance, planning, and engagement.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, workflows, and employee experience.
  • Collaborate closely with HRIS, IT, Finance, HR Operations, and Procurement to support seamless program delivery.
  • Respond to employee and retiree inquiries related to benefits, leaves of absence, disability support, enrollment, workplace injury, onboarding/offboarding, performance management, training, and recognition programs.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and empathetic responses, ensuring issues are resolved or escalated appropriately.
  • Track and follow up on inquiries to ensure consistent communication and accountability.
  • Participate in internal benefits meetings to stay informed on program updates, policy changes, and compliance requirements.
