About The Position

The Human Resources Business Partner will act as a valuable resource to the management team at all locations (including subsidiaries) by providing expertise, guidance, and coaching in all areas of human resources. This role is responsible for full cycle recruitment, supporting the VP of Human Resources in implementing and managing initiatives, nurturing a positive work environment, and working closely with line managers to identify and resolve HR issues. The position also involves identifying and addressing trends affecting the organization's health, supporting compensation plans, developing employee engagement strategies, conducting employee investigations, and recommending updates to HR policies and procedures. Additionally, the role includes identifying training needs, implementing training programs, and creating reports with KPI metrics. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • University degree or related business experience
  • Minimum 6 years previous experience in a related industry
  • CHRP/CHRL designation required or working towards
  • Strong working knowledge and application of employment legislation and HR best practices
  • Broad consultative HR experience, ideally within a multi-unit/location business
  • Proven track record of demonstrated achievement, expertise, and client-focused delivery
  • Strong communication, presentation and story telling skills (oral and written) with the ability to express ideas clearly and concisely to senior audiences
  • Strong analytical skills, business acumen and consulting advisory capability
  • Ability to constructively challenge while building/maintaining strong relationships
  • Comfortable and able to navigate and adapt through ambiguity, complexity and continuous change
  • Ability to understand organizational issues and challenges and influence stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Act as a valuable resource to the management team at all locations (including subsidiaries) by providing expertise, guidance, and coaching in all areas of human resources, including employee relations, performance management, attendance management, disability management, recruitment and retention, compensation and benefits, pay equity, legislative compliance, etc.
  • Responsible for full cycle recruitment at all locations (including subsidiaries) including developing and implementing practices and procedures that attract and retain the best candidates, ensuring a fair and transparent process, and supporting hiring managers to fill vacancies in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Support the VP of Human Resources in implementing and managing initiatives that support the desired organizational culture and organizational change.
  • Nurture a positive, creative and collaborative work environment.
  • Work closely with line managers at all locations to identify and resolve HR issues as they arise while promoting positive employee/management relations in carrying out day-to-day HR services and support.
  • Identify and address issues/trends that may affect the overall health of the organization including morale, turnover, absenteeism, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Support the VP of Human Resources in developing and managing effective compensation plans and initiatives.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement employee engagement strategies and initiatives, on employment laws and emerging trends.
  • Conduct timely employee investigations and prepare reports including findings and recommendations.
  • Research and recommend updates to existing, and the creation of new HR policies and procedures in keeping with HR best practices.
  • Identify training needs and implement, including providing staff training as appropriate (i.e., new hire orientation) in support of effective on-boarding, employee and management training and development and to meet compliance requirements.
  • Create and provide reports, including KPI metrics as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
