About The Position

The Human Resources Business Partner – Plant Sparta serves as the primary on-site HR leader within the Leadership Team, responsible for executing HR programs, supporting employees and leaders, and ensuring compliance with labor and employment regulations. The role focuses on operational people management, employee relations, talent execution, and frontline leadership support, while regional HR teams retain ownership of enterprise strategy, succession frameworks, and talent architecture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree, in human resources, labor relations, employment relations, psychology or business administration.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience working in HR
  • Experience working in a Center of Excellence, or Shared Services HR model.
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills.
  • Ability to drive performance and talent management processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong working knowledge of current employment and laws/regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Willing and able to physically support employees on all shifts; accessible by phone to 3rd shift employees, meeting in person when needed.

Nice To Haves

  • HR certification or Master’s degree in HR is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with the General Manager and plant leadership to implement regional HR programs and policies
  • Supports plant objectives by ensuring
  • Serves as the primary HR escalation point for plant-level people matters.
  • Serves as the on-site HR advisor to employees and leaders across all shifts.
  • Manages employee relations cases, investigations, corrective actions, and terminations.
  • Coaches supervisors to address performance, conduct, attendance, and engagement concerns.
  • Conducts exit interviews and shares recurring themes with regional HR.
  • Supports payroll and timekeeping questions with assistance from shared services.
  • Maintains workforce data and provides headcount reporting to regional HR (not headcount strategy ownership).
  • Partners with Regional Talent Management to deliver training programs for leaders on leadership standards, diversity and inclusion, conflict resolution, harassment, and more, to foster high employee motivation, morale, and a positive work environment.
  • Ensures compliance with Federal and State labor laws and regulations.
  • Coaches and advises managers on potential legal issues to minimize risk.
  • Represents the plant in quality audits, including IATF and customer audits of employee competence/ training and motivation.
  • Works closely with Regional Talent Acquisition to fill open plant positions, non-exempt and exempt within established Regional HR policies and procedures.
  • Conducts new non-exempt employee orientation and check-ins with employees and supervisors
  • Through coordinated effort with the HR Assistant, documents and submits employee data changes timely in accordance with established payroll, HR practices and policies as defined by Regional HR.
  • Adheres to tesa Global Purchasing requirements in selecting and adding new vendors for events and other HR related needs. Places purchase requisitions and monitors invoice processing per the internal process for ARIBA/PURE and PSINOVA.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
