Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, preferably with a focus on Human Resources Management.
  • Over 5 years of progressive HR experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on payroll support experience.
  • Strong knowledge of local laws and regulations regarding employment standards, human rights, and health and safety.
  • Proven experience leading HR projects and initiatives.
  • Proficient in HRIS systems (preferably Workday) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and influencing abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • CHRP designation or currently in progress is preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing and/or unionized environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily employee inquiries, prepare official correspondence, and address questions related to compensation, benefits, policies, and other employment matters.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and terminations.
  • Support the implementation of HR policies and ensure consistent interpretation and enforcement of procedures.
  • Coordinate the recruitment process for hourly positions, including interviewing and hiring, in collaboration with departmental managers.
  • Conduct or coordinate background checks, drug screenings, and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Facilitate thorough new employee orientations to ensure a seamless onboarding experience.
  • Partner with Payroll, Benefits Team, and Managers/Supervisors to oversee leave of absence and return-to-work processes, ensuring compliance and proper documentation.
  • Contribute to and participate in Group HR projects as required.
  • Assist in organizing and executing employee engagement, wellness initiatives, recognition events, and company social activities.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of HRIS data and employee records.
