About The Position

IAMGOLD is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner for a strategically focused role at the Cote Gold Mine Site. This position will act as a key partner in shaping a resilient and high-performing workforce. The HRBP will lead initiatives that align people strategies with operational goals, proactively manage workforce-related risks, and implement programs that drive talent development, retention, and productivity. This role combines hands-on execution with a forward-thinking approach to ensure HR practices support organizational sustainability, compliance, and competitive advantage in a dynamic mining environment. The role reports to the HR Manager on a 4 on, 3 off schedule.

Requirements

  • College diploma in Human Resources or Business related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of Human Resources experience.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment legislation, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Skilled in analyzing trends, identifying talent gaps, and developing proactive solutions.
  • Ability to guide leaders, resolve workplace issues, and foster a positive environment.
  • Exceptional ability to engage stakeholders, influence decisions, and maintain trust-based relationships.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the mining/natural resources industry or construction/engineering is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary HR contact for employees and supervisors, addressing inquiries or concerns, conducting investigations, and assisting with conflict resolution while ensuring confidentiality and fairness.
  • Provide advice on HR policies, procedures, and employment standards; communicate updates to ensure consistent and compliant application.
  • Conduct HR orientation for new hires, emphasizing safety culture, workforce expectations, and company values.
  • Support leaders in goal setting, performance reviews, and improvement plans; manage probationary reviews and disciplinary processes.
  • Deliver coaching and training to supervisors, focusing on engagement, safety leadership, and succession readiness.
  • Analyze trends in turnover, absenteeism, and skill gaps; recommend proactive solutions to mitigate workforce risks.
  • Maintain accurate employee files, administer exit processes, and ensure compliance with documentation standards.
  • Liaise with Occupational Health to manage short-term disability and return-to-work programs aligned with safety and productivity goals.
