This specific role supports the Supply Chain Operations team at the Guelph Distribution Centre, reporting to the Manager, People Business Partner, Supply Chain Ops. The position is responsible for coordinating and executing activities related to recruitment, employee relations, and employee programs, providing high-touch support to leadership and hourly employees. The role primarily involves afternoon and evening shifts, with flexibility for morning shifts being an asset. RBI emphasizes a collaborative, in-office work environment, requiring successful candidates to work onsite five days a week.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years’ experience in a Human Resources Business Partner or Generalist role, with a strong focus on employee relations, leadership coaching, and performance management.
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in recruitment and employee relations in a Distribution Center or Manufacturing setting.
  • Sound working knowledge of the Ontario Employment Standards Act, 2000 (ESA), Ontario Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), and other applicable employment-related legislation.
  • Strong employee relations and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to offer practical guidance while ensuring legal compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, influence, and maintain strong working relationships with employees, leaders, and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment, and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience working with HRIS and Time & Attendance systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • A Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provides accurate interpretation and ensures compliance with Company policies, procedures, and employment legislation (i.e.: ESA, Human Rights Code, OHSA).
  • Promotes employee engagement and fosters a positive, inclusive workplace culture through a consistent floor presence throughout the DC, by actively walking the floor, being visible during pre-shift meetings and intentionally engaging employees through informal check-ins, conversations, and real-time support.
  • Responds to employee inquiries in a timely and supportive manner to foster a positive employee experience.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to align recruitment strategies with business objectives.
  • In conjunction with the HR recruiter, ensures the Guelph Distribution staffing levels are effectively executed through the full cycle recruitment and selection process.
  • Facilitates new hire orientation sessions and supports employee training and development initiatives.
  • Partners with Disability Management to support work related and non-occ claims.
  • Partners with business leaders to conduct fair, thorough, and compliant policy-related internal investigations as required.
  • Supports Company initiatives through delivering consistent communications, by leveraging multiple channels to effectively reach employees and leaders.
  • Provides ongoing assistance and support to the Distribution Human Resources department.
  • Supports improvements to HR processes, programs, and employee experience initiatives.
  • Conducts administrative tasks including HRIS data entry/updates, file and record management, data collection and reporting of results.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned, consistent with the scope of the role.
