Position Summary The HR Assistant is a key administrative support role performing a range of HR support tasks for the Garyville Refinery. The HR assistant will report to the Garyville Refinery HR Director and will primarily support the HR Business Partner team at the Garyville Refinery, with secondary support for community relations and sitewide communications.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Two (2) years of Human Resources or relevant support experience required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills preferred
  • Experience with Workday or other major HRIS systems preferred
  • Data processing skills and experience using Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Forms, Teams, etc.) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supports various human resources functions and performs related administrative duties for the Garyville Refinery.
  • Helps compile HR related data and information to support HR Business Partner functions.
  • Reviews and processes personnel data, benefit plans and other human resources-related actions utilizing technology and HR systems (Workday, Workforce, Absence Soft, etc.).
  • Provides administrative and scheduling support for recruiting and onboarding activities.
  • Provides support for refinery-wide employee experience events and activities.
  • Assists with community relations and communications needs for the Garyville refinery.
  • Participates in developing new and improved approaches to various aspects of human resources and in recommending new and improved administrative methods and techniques to accomplish desired results.
