About The Position

Responsible for the clerical/administration function within the HR department. Performs duties directly related to payroll, file administration, benefits, workers compensation, leaves of absence, unemployment and preparing reports associated with these functions. Counsels associates, responds to requests for information and completes the necessary HR related forms and documents. Interacts with Home Office and outside Vendors on a variety of HR related issues. This position works Thursday – Sunday from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • Good organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of basic HR functions (payroll, files, and benefits).
  • Knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word.
  • 1-2 years of related experience.
  • Previous experience in a Human Resources and Payroll department.
  • Experience in administration in a business office environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Knowledge of payroll systems preferred (Kronos, Workday).

Responsibilities

  • Manage Leave of Absence (LOA) processes, including updating trackers, communicating return-to-work dates, and managing associate inquiries.
  • Provide Time and Attendance support, including updating and maintaining the payroll system, creating payroll adjustments, transmitting payroll, reconciling reports, auditing payroll, stopping payment on voided checks, and preparing checks for distribution.
  • Support ADA processes by scheduling check-ins with HRBPs and maintaining ADA files.
  • Manage the I-9 Reverification process by tracking needed reverifications, updating trackers, and sending memos to supervisors.
  • File and track various HR functions, including Temporary Shift Transfers.
  • Support recruitment and talent acquisition efforts by coordinating GWA recruitment, maintaining trackers, scheduling interviews, monitoring prehire and background check processes, and informing LP of expected interviews and new hires.
  • Complete physical new hire paperwork for all new hires and schedule interviews for home office hourly roles.
  • Assist HRBP Is in the job posting process, including meeting with union representatives, creating ASRs, and following up with supervisors.
  • Support retention and engagement efforts by conducting exit interviews for terminated GWAs and home office hourly associates, and conducting New Hire Engagement Meetings.
  • Update and maintain the HRIS, including personnel files, profiles, new hire paperwork, bid acceptances, and personnel change status.
  • Track, maintain, and prepare various lists and reports, such as new hire evaluations, attendance records, seniority, and shift information.
  • Coordinate the benefits program, including insurance, 401(k), leaves of absences, and appointment tracking.
  • Counsel associates on benefit plans and provisions, and assist with claims and open enrollment forms.
  • Assist with new hire and benefit orientations for bilingual associates and provide translations for associate relations, benefits, and medical services matters.
  • Complete employment verifications, process unemployment information, and respond to wage verifications.
  • Interact with Home Office on HR administrative issues and keep the Human Resources Supervisor informed.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned.
