About The Position

The Department of Economic Security (DES) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join their team as a Human Resources Analyst. This role, under general supervision, will work independently on various tasks and projects to support the DBME Human Resources Staffing/Recruitment team. The position involves handling sensitive and confidential personal information and requires general knowledge of staffing and recruitment theories, practices, and procedures. The role may offer the possibility of remote work within Arizona, depending on business needs and performance.

Requirements

  • Federal and state employment laws, statutes, rules and regulations.
  • Current principles, practices and methods used in the administration of staffing/recruitment.
  • Agency policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Principles and practices of modern organizational development.
  • Computer systems including Google Suite and Microsoft products.
  • Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Establishing priorities and manage a diverse workload.
  • Developing and implementing various improvement initiatives for assigned program areas.
  • Analyze specific problem situations and determine acceptable solutions within the framework of laws, rules and regulations.
  • Performs research, collect and analyze data and report information.
  • Negotiate and apply reason persuasively to resolve employee relations issues.
  • Comprehend and make inferences from written material.
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or closely related field.
  • Relevant HR Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in recruitment efforts; submit and/or complete background requests; complete applicant references; conduct file reviews; complete hire packets and submit IT tickets for selected candidates.
  • Communicate with applicants to schedule interviews.
  • Review interview results with the Staffing/Recruitment team and hiring managers; assist with interview outcomes.
  • Screen applicants and conduct background verifications; administers examinations and tests to assess applicants; follows up with applicants to gather missing information.
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support for the DBME Human Resources Staffing/Recruitment team.
