About The Position

Under the general direction of the Human Resources (HR) Recruitment Manager, this position serves as a Human Resources Analyst within the recruitment unit. The primary responsibility is conducting comprehensive employment reference and verification reviews for candidates in the hiring process. The role ensures that all reasonable and available avenues to contact prior employers have been exhausted to make good-faith efforts to obtain employment verification and professional references.

Requirements

  • General human resources practices and procedures
  • Arizona Department of Administration Personnel Rules, policies, and procedures
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint
  • Department of Child Safety (DCS) policies and procedures
  • Using office equipment and various computer programs
  • Logging and tracking activities
  • Maintaining and updating personnel files
  • Verbal and written communication
  • Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships
  • Time Management and organization
  • Cooperating with others to accomplish common goals and tasks
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver license
  • Must maintain acceptable driving record
  • Must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12)
  • Employees may be required to use their own transportation as well as maintain valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration.
  • Must be able to pass a Central Registry Check.
  • All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).

Responsibilities

  • Conducts reference checks, file reviews, etc. Receives hiring packets from central office and field liaisons, and verifies accuracy of information. Ensures all phases of the hiring process are completed. Provides completed packets to Recruiter for job offer.
  • Serves as administrative support to recruitment unit; assists with day-to-day work such as contacting candidates, monitoring the file review and reference request unit mailbox and preparing files.
  • Supports the DCS Management System by participating in team huddle meetings and tracks data and metrics for area of responsibility. Attends job fairs to support recruiters.
  • Other duties as assigned as related to the position.
