This position within the Department of Human Resources serves as a key member of the Workforce Support Services team, providing centralized support to a variety of State of Delaware agencies. In this role, the incumbent will promote positive employee relations through effective staff supervision and by interpreting, explaining, and applying applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. The position is responsible for developing solutions, providing recommendations, and offering guidance and direction to our team members on workforce-related matters. Strong attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role. Professional human resource work is characterized by the application of human resource theories, principles and models to support the administration of human resource functions; as well as the use of knowledge, discretion, consultation and independent judgment in applying and/or interpreting human resource laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures to address a variety of human resource activities, challenges, issues and assignments. Work often involves review, evaluation, consultation, and recommendations of specific courses of action to be taken, through collaboration with employees, supervisors, managers, and others, and in compliance with human resource laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures.
