About The Position

The Human Resource Specialist will be responsible for a variety of HR functions including maintaining employee records, administering benefits, coordinating enrollments and terminations, and assisting employees with inquiries. This role also involves recruitment activities, managing the job requisition process, overseeing the on-boarding process, and developing professional relationships with educational institutions and diverse professional organizations. The position requires adherence to company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Experience working with Windows operating system as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Human Resources or Business Field.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, or equivalent, preferred.
  • HRIS experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and maintain employee personnel, insurance, and benefit files.
  • Explain company personnel policies, benefits, and procedures to employees.
  • Work in HR records system to make approved changes to employees' records based on Employee Status Change forms and Separation notices.
  • Coordinate benefit enrollments, changes, withdrawals and terminations.
  • Counsel employees with problems or concerns and attempt solutions or resolutions as needed.
  • Coordinate the activities associated with administering KNA's Tuition Reimbursement program.
  • Coordinate the activities associated with payroll garnishments for child support service notices and to include providing notification to affected employee and preparation of required paperwork.
  • Maintain and update pay progression rates for hourly employees as needed.
  • Coordinate and process employee health insurance claims for new, late and terminated enrollees.
  • Assist employees with inquiries regarding benefits, insurance, and other employment-related concerns.
  • Process and track Leave of Absences for KNA employees.
  • Reconcile Life Insurance, supplemental insurance billings.
  • Manage employee benefit enrollment and termination and assist in benefits administration.
  • Examine employee files to answer inquiries and provide information for personnel actions.
  • Compile and prepare reports and documents pertaining to personnel activities.
  • Follow established work practices that support compliance with all company policies, safety standards, 5S practices, regulatory and/or customer requirements.
  • Recruit for new hire requirements of KNA locations and company staff.
  • Manages the job requisition approval process.
  • Review results of background checks and communicates issues accordingly.
  • Identify hiring needs & quality candidates in partnership with hiring managers.
  • Maintains offer letters for job offers made to employment applicants.
  • Inform job applicants of details such as duties and responsibilities, compensation, benefits, schedules, working conditions or promotion opportunities.
  • Ensure that recruitment and employment activities are compliant with government regulations.
  • Oversee employee on-boarding process.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with colleges & universities and diverse professional organizations.
