About The Position

The Division of Probation and Parole is seeking candidates for a Human Resource Specialist. This position provides professional level Human Resources work in the area of Personnel. The mission of the Division of Probation and Parole is to enhance public safety and promote offender reintegration in the community through proactive supervision and referral to community-based resources. While this job may be challenging at times, it comes with a purpose of supporting over 800 Department of Corrections Division of Probation and Parole employees who provide services to individuals all across the Commonwealth.

Requirements

• Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
• One year of professional experience in personnel administration, business administration or management.
• Strong communication skills
• Observation skills
• Leadership skills
• Self-motivated
• Well organized
• Able to work under pressure

Responsibilities

• Payroll Processing
• Ensure the day-to-day operation of the Personnel Department.
• Provide backup to the Human Resource Specialist- Institutional
• Assist with and oversee resignations, promotions, and the request for registers to fill vacant positions, personnel actions, and background checks.
• Assist staff with daily HR needs to include, assisting staff with career site and applying to jobs, etc.
• Assist with New Employee Orientation.
• Take phone calls and emails from staff and route appropriately.
• Keep records and develop reports as assigned.
• Other Duties as assigned.
