About The Position

S&L is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR Specialist to manage our day-to-day human resources, payroll, and benefits operations across our regional stores. This position supports both of our active locations. The specialist will currently work out of our Pulaski and Oconto Falls stores, with the Oconto Falls operations transitioning to our brand-new facility in Little Suamico in May of 2027. In this role, you will serve as the core administrator for our team, ensuring seamless payroll processing, smooth onboarding, and reliable employee support. You will act as a key partner to our managers, vendors, and dealership contacts, managing everything from compliance to culture.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in HR administration, payroll processing, and benefits coordination.
  • Ability to support both regional locations, with the flexibility to transition from Oconto Falls to the new Little Suamico store in May 2027.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills to effectively assist employees, managers, and external financial or insurance partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Dealership or multi-unit retail environment experience is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with Netchex or another HRIS/payroll platform is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Process semi-monthly payrolls and monthly manager commission payrolls accurately.
  • Manage all deduction changes in the Netchex payroll system, including garnishments, wage assignments, and national medical orders.
  • Maintain and upload 401(k) transmittals during each payroll cycle.
  • Handle year-end reporting duties, including W-2 and 1095-C generation through the system.
  • Manage onboarding enrollments, monthly invoice reconciliations, and vendor data entry.
  • Lead annual renewal processes and coordinate benefit changes during open enrollment.
  • Coordinate 401(k) enrollments, employee financial meetings, and annual audit requests.
  • Process employee terminations and manage regulatory compliance for offboarding and COBRA.
  • Serve as the main dealership contact for all workers' compensation claims and carrier communication.
  • Support managers by posting job openings, conducting phone screens, and scheduling interviews.
  • Manage the complete onboarding pipeline and set up all new hires within the system.
  • Investigate and help resolve employee complaints alongside the Direct Manager, GM, or Controller.
  • Answer day-to-day employee benefit questions and promote health insurance best practices.
