About The Position

The Human Resource Manager is responsible for fostering a positive and engaging workplace environment by leading partner relations, enhancing partner engagement, overseeing investigations, and driving recognition and appreciation initiatives. This role plays a critical part in ensuring a culture where partners feel supported, valued, and connected to the organization’s mission. This position also leads community engagement efforts, volunteer programs, and key HR processes, including performance management, benefits administration, and compliance. Under the direction of the Vice President of People and Culture, this role supports Rock City Enterprises’ mission: “To enrich lives through Wonder and Connection.”

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, I/O Psychology, or related field required.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in human resources, with a focus on partner relations and engagement.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Strong leadership and team development skills with the ability to oversee up to six (6) partners.
In-depth knowledge of state and federal employment laws.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), including reporting and data analysis.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
Professional certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) preferred.
Valid driver’s license with a good driving record required.
First Aid & CPR Certification required (or ability to obtain if expired).

Responsibilities

Deliver excellent service to internal and external customers in alignment with the organization’s mission, culture, and values.

Serve as a primary point of contact for partners regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging workplace culture across all teams.
Mediate and resolve partner conflicts and concerns in a fair, consistent, and timely manner.
Provide guidance to managers and partners on HR-related matters, ensuring compliance with policies and employment laws.
Develop and implement strategies to enhance partner engagement and satisfaction.
Conduct surveys, feedback sessions, and analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Conduct thorough, impartial investigations into partner complaints, misconduct, and workplace issues.
Ensure investigations are documented accurately, handled confidentially, and aligned with legal and organizational standards.
Recommend and implement appropriate actions based on findings.
Oversee partner injury cases, ensuring compliance with Workers’ Compensation and OSHA reporting requirements.
Administer compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and internal equity.
Manage benefits enrollment and communication, including health, retirement, and additional offerings.
Conduct regular compensation reviews and support market analysis.
Oversee performance management processes including goal setting, evaluations, and feedback cycles.
Partner with managers to address performance concerns and implement improvement plans.
Design and lead partner recognition programs to celebrate achievements and milestones.
Plan and execute appreciation events and engagement initiatives.
Evaluate program effectiveness and adjust strategies as needed.
Coordinate volunteer opportunities and community engagement initiatives.
Build partnerships with local organizations to support meaningful community involvement.
Track participation and measure the impact of community initiatives.
Partner with the Vice President of People and Culture to develop and manage departmental budgets.
Monitor expenses and ensure projects remain within budget.
Review monthly financial statements and provide insights.
Manage invoice coding and submission to the Accounting team.
Lead, coach, and develop the Human Resources team, including work delegation and performance management.
Assign projects and ensure compliance, accuracy, and timely completion of HR initiatives.
Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the HR team.
Ensure adherence to all organizational policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and ensure organizational compliance.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
